Security Project Management

Tellus manages small and large-scale projects; each is equally important to its business. Experience and expertise includes mining operations, rail operations, telecommunications, oil & gas, port and aviation security.

Limited projects Businesses often find themselves facing a short term situation of higher than normal risk exposure where even a limited mishap could have a serious impact on the business.

These are limited projects with clearly defined parameters in terms of the task at hand, and in terms of their size and timescales.  Such projects would include:

• Annual General Meetings of large multi-national companies
• Special Events
• High profile business seminars and delegations in high risk areas
• Security surveys of operations or industrial installations
• Movement of high value items and cargoes

Large-scale projects

Tellus adopts a holistic approach to large-scale projects.  This is done by incorporating a range of Tellus services appropriately, and contracting out specific products and services where required.    This may include the following:

• Geopolitical analysis.  Providing an overview of the political stability and strategic risks of entry to a particular region or environment.
• Risk Assessment and Survey.  An appraisal of the practical risks to personnel, property, movement and operational activities in a particular area or locality, and the appropriate strategies to counter and reduce such risks to acceptable levels.
• Definition of risk management policy.
• Strategy.  The general approach required to achieve acceptable risk levels within a defined environment.
• Risk Management Plan including contingency plans and crisis response.
• Periodic review and audit.  Physical risk management will remain a live issue throughout the life of the client enterprise.  Regular reviews and audits utilising the identified indicators and measurement parameters are necessary to achieve this.  For many clients Tellus manages an on-going relationship providing this service.  For others the appropriate systems are put in place and once the client is content that the necessary management processes are effective they continue independently thereafter. 

  In all its project management activities the Tellus approach is adapted to fit in with the client requirements and build on any existing client arrangements.  The aim is to provide the client with a cost effective risk management structure and organisation that will be effective throughout the life of the project.
